Fran and I have lived in Brill for nearly 20 years. I am passionate about maintaining our village community and working towards helping our community thrive. We are fortunate to live in such a beautiful environment and it is essential that we all do our bit to maintain and protect this environment.

I am personally involved with Brill Sports & Social Club, in particular helping to organise the annual Brill Festival. I also enjoy working backstage with the Windmill Players - and have been known to turn up occasionally to assist the volunteers working on Brill Common.

Rob Timms, handyman

Rob plays a crucial part in keeping our village a lovely place to live; emptying bins, weeding paths, putting up notices, mending fences - you name it, Rob does it, seemingly within hours. Rob lies in Brill with his wife; their daughter is Victoria Timms of Brill Photography (website opens in new tab).

Andy Fisher, councillor

I’ve lived in Brill for 9 years. I have a background in IT and finance project management, mainly troubleshooting large projects - but I grew up on a farm (at one point running a farm for my father) and so have a great appreciation of the countryside and how to care for it.

My main role in the community of Brill (before I joined the PC) is Chair of The Brill Society responsible, with a great team, for Midsummer and Midwinter Music. I’m also the instigator of a plan to rebuild Parsons Mill, a post-mill which until 1905 stood across the road from our present windmill. My most recent achievement was the repair of two of Brill Windmill’s sails, saving the community over £40k in contractors’ fees. On Sundays you’ll usually find me at the windmill, working with our amazing volunteers to share our iconic landmark with the visiting public.

I am passionate about the community of Brill and its history. I help out with All Saints’ Memory Lane Café and the Bernwode Rural Shed, and I sit on the Brill Memorial Hall management committee. I run the Brill Oral History Group (watch out for our podcast!) and I care for an archive of historic photographs of Brill and its surrounds.

Fiona Bennett-Meere, wildlife and community ranger

Fiona was appointed late in 2025. She brings a wealth of environment and conservation experience to the role including Chiltern Society ranger, BBOWT community wildlife officer, a key role in the Nextdoor Nature programme engaging with under-served community groups in Reading - plus a number of other nature conservation projects in Warwickshire, Berkshire, and Costa Rica.

Fiona has a BSc in Anthropology with Sociology, and Masters in Primate Conservation and Marine Vertebrate Ecology and Conservation. She lives with her husband, Jason, four dogs, six chickens and a rescue turkey called Rodney. Besides her family, Fiona’s main passion is Canicross, in which she competes with her Pointers, Mario and Luigi.

Liz Springs, vice-chair

My background is in primary education, administration and management. My family has been in Brill since 1995 and I have been part of the community off and on for the last 26 years. My daughter recently left Brill School and we have 2 spoilt pooches I enjoy walking in the village. I feel we are uniquely lucky in our community with beautiful open spaces, rich farmland and amazing diversity of wildlife. I am keen to support, preserve and enrich these things where possible for our future generations by helping our community to develop ideas and strategies to be more bio-diverse and environmentally friendly. During my time on the PC I have developed a greater interest in our declining wildlife, from the tiny bumblebee to the majestic barn owl, and how we can better support these once thriving creatures - because sadly, once they're gone they're gone.

As a lesser-abled member of our community, I understand some of the barriers that can make it harder to enjoy our beautiful village. I am keen to help make our village more accessible for all.

Emi Slator, councillor

Brill showed confidence in me by voting for me in May 2021 and I will do my best to honour and respect all those in the village equally.

I am a teacher trainer and workshop leader by profession working with refugees and young people. I am also a member of Brill Environment Group and volunteer for BBOWT. I am keen to protect the bio-diversity and wildlife within our many areas of common land as well as develop ideas for how Brill can build resilience in the face of the climate crisis. (Bio from previous tenure.)

Jason Connolly, councillor

I’ve lived in Brill for just under two years, and in that time I've been made to feel very welcome indeed. I have a passion for Brill and it's rich history. With a background of 20 years working at London Heathrow and previously residing in West London, I feel I have embraced village life and quickly immersed myself in this vibrant community. I’m involved in several projects including being an active windmill volunteer and playing a key role in the Bernwode Rural Shed and I hope that my enthusiasm for the village and It's heritage will make me a valuable addition to the Parish Council. I look forward to helping to ensure Brill’s legacy and community spirit continue to thrive.

In my spare time I play a lot of golf and I'm a keen motorsport and football fan.

Malcolm Wilson, councillor

I’ve lived in Brill since 1992 and am married to Caroline with three children (who all went to Brill School) and one grandchild. I have been retired for about ten years. We have been very happy in Brill which has proved a wonderful community in which to live and to bring up a family.

I would like to increase my activity in the village and being a councillor seems an ideal way to do this. I hope that with my background as a lawyer I will be able to make a valuable contribution.
