Brill MUGA : Bookings & Guidance

Brill’s Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) is on the playing fields adjacent to Brill School and the Scout hut. The facility is free for everyone to use. Here’s a booking form and user information.

Comments from MUGA users

“This is an absolutely fabulous facility! Great for family fitness, easy to book and clear instructions for use. My kids age from 14-18 and [without the MUGA] it can be cost prohibitive to do sporty things together.” Olivia, August 2025

”Great facility. Works brilliantly for our weekly game of 5-a-side football - we old blokes love it!!” Ian, August 2025

”A really great village and community facility. I highly recommend the MUGA to other families.” Olivia, August 2025

Booking the MUGA

You can book the MUGA for 30mins or 60 mins - or a combination of the two, and you may book up to 21 days in advance. We are discouraging longer bookings or bookings made further in advance to enable as many people as possible to enjoy the facility.

If the MUGA is unavailable at the time you want, this will either be because Brill School is using the area (regular times are blocked out for school sessions) or someone else has made a booking.

Please cancel your booking if you can't keep it so the MUGA shows as available for other people, even at the last minute.

If you have any questions or wish to make a special booking please contact the Parish Council - but please allow 5 days for us to reply.

Read Brill Parish Council's Privacy Notice.

Using the MUGA

Equipment

Don’t forget to bring racquets, balls and whatever else you need for your game.

You’ll find the tennis net in the large metal cabinet at the Scout Hut end of the MUGA. The lock code will be included in your booking confirmation email. Please return the net to the cabinet when you have finished, push the doors hard to shut, make sure the handle is fulled turned, and reset the lock. Thank you!

If your booking is late in the day, please use our new flood lights. The switch is in the green cabinet. Please turn the lights off before you leave.

Parking

Please DON’T drive to the MUGA; the school carpark is not for public use, even during the holidays. If you have to come to Brill by car, please use the parking areas by the windmill or behind the Memorial Hall in Church Street. Please DO NOT park on The Green or along The Firs.

How to erect the tennis net for play

The tennis net posts slot into the designated holes in the surface. Here’s the best way to fix it. You need two people to do this easily.

  1. place first post into nearest hole

  2. walk across the court, unrolling the net as you go

  3. place second post into far hole

  4. tighten the net using the hand wheel on the first post

Please remove and stow the net and posts in the metal cabinet at the end of your session. We find it’s best to loosen the net tension first before removing the far post from its hole.

A community success story

The MUGA didn’t spring up overnight like a mushroom! Many people worked very hard to make it happen. Read about them here.
