Frequency of PC MeetingsAt our January meeting, we voted to trial meeting alternate months; six meetings a year rather than the present 11. The main driver behind this decision is the reduced council; only four of the seven seats are presently filled which means a substantially increased workload for those four councillors. We will meet informally between minuted meetings and communications with residents will be maintained. Urgent matters with be discussed, and decisions made and ratified at the next formal meeting. We will review the situation at the Parish Council AGM in May. In the meantime … how about becoming a councillor?! Your term of office would only be until May 2025, when local elections take place. The present Council has had its ups and downs but we’re nevertheless proud of our achievements, including involving other village groups in managing the common, supporting Brill with Ukraine, trying to reduce speeding in the village by installing speed indicator devices, maintaining the war memorial and garden, trying to encourage biodiversity, part-funding The Brill Society’s repairs to the windmill, supporting the Playground Committee in constructing a fabulous new area for children, paying for life-saving training - and, way back in 2022, leading on the celebrations for Queen Elizabeth’s Jubilee (remember the Flags?!)
