Reducing Speeding in BrillA message from Brill Parish Council: “The decision for the speed limit in the village lies primarily with Bucks Council. We have, on a number of occasions, raised concerns with Bucks Council about speeding in the village, and enquired about lowering the spped limit to 20mph. We’ve done this both to our local Bucks Councillor, Michael Rand, and as a member of the Haddenham & Waddesdon Community Board, alongside neighbouring parishes. We have been told that a 20mph limit is not something Bucks Council currently endorses - but we will, nevertheless, continue to push for this option. “In the meantime, we would like to propose setting up a formal Community Speedwatch scheme; training and equipment for which would be provided by Thames Valley Police. Neighbouring villages of Chilton and Cuddington have both introduced Community Speedwatch and there is excellent evidence as to its efficacy. Community Speedwatch requires a committed team of volunteers and previous tentative enquires have not attracted any interest.
